Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both of whom were lawyers. At the age of five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma was six years old when she realized she wanted to pursue a career as an actress. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part time theatre school in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. In a school play and a Stagecoach production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight auditions consistently, the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast as the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The most successful film of 2001 it set new records for its opening day revenue as well as opening weekend takings. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three young stars. The widely distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma's performance was recognized and later won awards for the movie.
